Assistant professors of the Karaganda Medical University, School of Public Health and Biomedicine, Epidemiology module, Nesipkul Alysheva and Mauza Beisekova passed academic mobility online from November 15 to 26, 2021 at the Cair of Public Health and Epidemiology of the Astana Medical University. Within the framework of the academic mobility program, practical classes were held in the elective disciplines “Prevention of nosocomial infection” for 4th year students in the specialty 6B10107 “General medicine”.
On November 27, the international scientific and practical conference “Multidisciplinary approach in the provision of obstetric and gynecological care at the outpatient stage” was held. The event, organized by the Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 1 of the Astana Medical University under the leadership of the head of the Chair Zaytuna Khamidullina and the Federation of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in Nur-Sultan, was attended by leading world experts who raised the problems of managing pregnant women.
On November 26, 2021, Astana Medical University celebrated International Students’ Day, which is considered a holiday of youth and fun despite its tragic history during World War II. Student’s Day remains one of the most favourite and memorable holidays for those who once crossed the threshold of higher education. This is a holiday of youth, people who have preserved the fire of creativity and a thirst for discovery in their souls. It was awaited by students impatiently from the beginning of the transition to the traditional format of education.
We congratulate the Director of the Department for Scientific Research Activity Gulnar Tuleshova on her well-deserved medal of “Mercy and Justice”! By the decision of the Award Commission of the International Committee for the Protection of Human Rights (Comité International pour la Protection des Droits de l'Homme CIPDH, France), Dr. Tuleshova was awarded the Medal of Mercy and Justice at the meeting of the Public Council on Anti-Corruption, where they discussed the implementation of the action plan for 2019-2021 within the framework of the Anti-Corruption Strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2015-2025 and countering the shadow economy by the Finance Department of the city of Nur-Sultan.
On November 12, 2021, a scientific and practical conference “Actual problems of pharmacology of the Republic of Kazakhstan” was held. It was dedicated to the memory of the scientist-pharmacologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor DAMIR MUKHAMBETOV. The event was held in a hybrid format (online and offline) with the participation of the wife, colleagues, students and friends of Dr. Mukhambetov, who devoted all his professional activities to the development of domestic pharmacology.
NU MUN club will be organizing a ‘short film’ competition in collaboration with UN Women for Kazakhstani students. This competition requires students to create a short video on “violence against women”. We invite students to this event, which will take place until the 25th of November, 23:59, GMT +6 hours. After, there will be a ceremony in offline format with UN Women representative Maria Dotsenko, where finalists will receive the UN Women brand products and certificates.
From 3 to 11 November 2021, at the Republican State Enterprise “National Testing Center” of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, certification testing was carried out according to the KAZTEST system to assess the level of proficiency in the state language by university employees. This event was organized by the State Language Development Group. The testing was carried out in pursuance of the “Action Plan for 2020-2025 for the implementation in the health sector of the State Program for the Development and Functioning of Languages in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2020-2025”, approved by order No. 172 of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 18, 2020.
On November 17, residents, employees of the Chair of Neonatology of Astana Medical University, neonatologists and nurses of the City Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 2 (CMH No. 2) marked the World Prematurity Day. World Prematurity Day is celebrated annually for ten years at the initiative of the European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants (EFCNI).
On November 12, 2021, at a general meeting of the management and employees of Astana Medical University, where the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alexey Tsoy took part, a new rector and new members of the Board of Directors of the company were announced. Bakhytzhan Seksenbaev was elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, the new independent director – Damir Suentaev. Also, by the decision of the competition committee, the minister announced that Kamalzhan Nadyrov was appointed chairman of the board - rector of the Astana Medical University.
In the republican competition among higher educational institutions for the title “Best Chair of the Republic of Kazakhstan – 2021”, which was held by the Association of Heads of Educational Institutions “Qazaqstan Education”, in the direction of “Preventive Medicine”, the Chair of Public Health and Management won the Grand Prix and the Chair of Public Health and Hygiene took first position.
From 4 to 11 October 2021, senior lecturers of the Chair of Public Health and Epidemiology of our university S.A. Zhizhila and Z.I. Makasheva passed academic mobility in the discipline "Fundamentals of preventive and anti-epidemic measures" for 4th year students in the specialty 6В10106 - "Public health" (directions "Management", "Epidemiology"), in the Karaganda Medical University.
Often, employees face controversial issues in the field of labor legal relations, therefore, knowledge of their labor rights and the ability to protect them is a guarantee of the employer’s compliance with their obligations. But it should be noted that the Labor Code is aimed not only at protecting the rights of the employee, but at creating a balance of interests between the employer and the employee. Taking into account the importance of outreach work on labor relations among medical workers, today at the Astana Medical University, the AQNIET Kazakhstan Industry Union of Healthcare Workers held a seminar “Resolution of labor disputes on dismissals and transfers”.
As part of the partnership and educational work of the Chairs of Public Health and Hygiene, Public Health and Epidemiology, a lot of fruitful work is being done with teachers and students of the Lyceum School No.72 in Nur-Sultan. Cooperation is annually approved by the annual Work Plan within the framework of the signed memorandum, within which all activities are divided into educational, career guidance and scientific blocks.

Since the beginning of 2020, an online journal club of neonatologists of Kazakhstan has been working at the Chair of Neonatology of Astana Medical University. The creators of the club were awarded a copyright certificate on September 29, 2021. This club is unique in view of its purpose, objectives and composition. The club includes residents and teachers of not only our university, but also other medical universities in Kazakhstan. In addition, the club is expanding its geography, attracting specialists from neonatologists from other countries: Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, etc.
