The doctor-therapist of the highest category, member of Association of family doctors of Kazakhstan, the Academic Council A MU Gulmira Derbissalina was trained through the joint project of DFID and the British Council in family medicine in the UK, studied the methodology of higher medical education in Israel, the UK, Denmark, Slovenia, Finland, was a member of the Salzburg seminars in medicine, took an active part in organizing and holding international seminars in our University with the invitation of leading experts from America, England, Slovenia, and Russia. Head of the Chair Derbissalina G. A. He is a member of the scientific seminar on UMR, and therapeutic, pediatric disciplines. Under the guidance of Derbissalina G. A., 8 undergraduates of medicine, 2 doctors of PhD defended themselves. Currently, the Chair is preparing for the defense of 4 more doctoral students and 2 undergraduates. He has more than 100 publications, 10 author's certificates, author of educational and methodological manuals. For intensive and conscientious work, he has received commendations and certificates of honor from the administration, is an expert trainer of the professional development cycle in communication skills. Is a member of the working group in the development group ABO and seminars on qualitative research, is also a trainer of the national project on development of communicative skills of PPS of clinical chairs AMU.
At the end of 90th reforms of primary medical help began in Kazakhstan, in particular introduction of domestic medicine widespread in the civilized countries. Therefore, an order was published by chairman of healthcare Committee of Chair of education, culture and healthcare of Republic of Kazakhstan Tolebay Rakhypbekov, about organization at medical Institutions of higher learning of chairs of family medicine chairs at medical universities to train family medicine specialists.
The organization of the new chair was entrusted to the most experienced professor, Omarova Venera Amirzhanovna, under whose leadership the Chair of Family Medicine was formed in November 1998.
Since February 1999, the head of the chair has been appointed MD, Professor Rafail Rozenson.
Since December 2000, the chair was headed by MD, associate professor Konstantin Garkalov. In 2000 he studied in the UK as part of a joint project of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the British Council. During the leadership of Garkalov K.A. In 2005, MD, Associate Professor Duman Turebekov was appointed the head of the chair. With the assistance of the chair, the Association of Family Doctors of the Republic of Kazakhstan was organized.
Since its inception, the chair has gone through several stages of reorganization: the chair of family medicine, the chair of training general practitioners. Since 2007, the chair has been reorganized into the Chair of General Medical Practice №1.
Head of the newly formed chair in 2007 was appointed MD, associate professor Gulmira Azhmadinovna Derbissalina.
The Chair of General Medical Practice teaches three disciplines in three languages: "Fundamentals of Clinical Epidemiology and evidence-based medicine "for 2-3-year students of all specialties," Internal diseases in the NEA "for 5th-year students of General Medicine," Evidence-based Medicine " for residents and undergraduates of all specialties.
Since the 2017-2018 academic year, the Chair of General Medical Practice with the course of Evidence-based Medicine has been the graduating Chair of Bachelor's degrees in General Medicine.
In 2019-2020, during the period of an emergency epidemiological situation, students passed remotely in the following order: Stage I-comprehensive testing, which students passed within two days, stage II-solving situational problems in the disciplines of the module "general medical practice". the new format of MMA in the remote format was approved at the meeting of the Council (06.05.2020 Protocol No. 9) when passing the KMA by the testing method, the "testing module" was used, which is part of the educational process management complex "Sirius". Certification of practical skills was carried out by the method of solving situational problems in the disciplines of the general medical practice module.
The staff of the Chair regularly conducts educational and methodological training seminars on interactive methods of teaching at the University for teachers of clinical Chairs of the University, on communication skills for teaching staff of clinical Chairs. Teachers introduce interactive teaching methods into the learning process. The Chair has several acts of implementation in the educational process. For a number of years, the Chair's employees have been actively using the TBL method. In the framework of the boundary exam for the module "General Medical Practice", the method of the OCE with the participation of standardized patients is used.
The Chair staff has written teaching aids on the subjects taught, including 3-on evidence-based medicine (2 - in Kazakh and 1-in Russian), which are used in all medical universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Employees of the Chair are trained in academic mobility in foreign countries (Finland). The staff of the Chair actively participates in the development of state standards of education and standard curricula for various medical specialties. Since 2011, members of the Chair (Derbissalina G. A., Nurgaliyeva N. K., Zhunussova D. K., Umbetzhanova A. T., Bekbergenova Zh. B.) participate in international projects financed by MES, Erasmus+ and the world Bank.
The Chair has clinical bases in almost all polyclinics of the city (polyclinics № 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 NEA "Shipager", MC MUA). Employees of the Chair conduct consultative reception of patients at the clinical bases of the Chair, regularly participate in clinical conferences, participate in the work of the therapeutic society of Astana. They participate as guest speakers on current health issues in TV programs and other media. Teachers of the Chair are members of the Association of Family Doctors, Therapists of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Astana, the European Association of Preventive Cardiology, the European Association of Heart Failure. A. participated in the workshops on peer education in the health sector in the Republic of Kazakhstan on implementation of evidence-based medicine principles for developers of clinical protocols of diagnostics and treatment in Kazakhstan.

The Chair is actively engaged in research of teaching staff, takes part in international scientific and practical conferences as speakers held in the countries of the near and far abroad. The Chair annually conducts scientific work with students and young scientists. The staff of the Chair actively participates in the social life of the University and clinical bases. This includes holding the Day of the Elderly, participation in the charity event "Mother's Heart", in career guidance work in schools in Astana. Head teacher of the Chair Akhmetova D. N.
