International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women


On December 27, 2018, within the framework of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, in JSC “Astana Medical University”, the SCORA Standing Committee on Reproductive Health including HIV/AIDS of the Kazakhstan Medical Youth Organization (KazMSA) with the assistance of the Dean’s Office for Youth, chair of History of Kazakhstan and Philosophy together with the unit for the protection of women from violence of the Department of Internal Affairs of the city of Astana, held an outreach meeting for 100 1-year students of the specialty “General Medicine”. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of the violence against women. During the meeting, the senior inspectors Assel Kalibekova and Dana Taygozhina gave the students a lecture “The Problem of Violence against the Female Sex”, distributed booklets and reminders on the issues of violence and discrimination against women and children. In conclusion, the students received answers to their questions. This event was held by a local officer, a student of the 246-group of the specialty “General Medicine” Gaukhar Kusainova and other 2-year students of the specialty “General Medicine” A. Kokshieva, G. Sankibayeva, Zh. Ulmakanbetova and M. Nadyrkhan.
